I have just begun to research our family. I am beginning with my Mother's side of the family. Her Mother was born Ermine Ochs, daughter of Hugo and Hermine Ochs, and born in Jersey City, New Jersey. I am trying to find information about Hugo and Hermine. I do know that Hermine was a musician, and had won an award from the Anchor Society. She taught Piano and Violin. Ermine became a musician, playing piano for the silent movies. She also played the violin beautifully. Ermine also played piano for a little church in Jersey City. I believe that Hugo Ochs was involved in politics in Jersey City. His one son was Walter (Wally) Ochs. Wally became an actor, and an agent in Hollywood. George was another son, and lived close to Jersey City. I believe he was a detective for the railroad, but am not sure of this. He married a woman named Lucrecia.
