I started researching the family around May 2003 and because I had some old news clippings , marriage certificates and such like , I was fortunate enough to be able to establish a good base for developing the family tree.
I have recently been in touch with some newly-found relatives which has greatly expanded my family tree. I have not yet published much of the information because it is not in a state to be published. I can say, however, that I have one line of Mckellars which goes back to Archibald, born Lochgoilhead, Argyll, 1636 and the other line goes back to Duncan born Inveraray abt 1620. The lines converge in early 1800 because of a marriage.
Many of the Mckellars descended from these two ended up in Canada, Australia, New Zealand (I only came here in 1966!)and other places.
I would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to exchange information about Mckellars and associated families.
