Washington Vanatta (Vanator) served in the Civil War and then ran a hotel/livery in Marengo, Ohio until 1900. He died in 1904 and is buried along with many relatives in Bryn Zion cemetery in Mount Gilead. Washington's son Scott moved to Colorado in 1917.
