The Strich-Vargas family is composed by Gary Strich, from New Jersey, and Ana Cristina Vargas, from San Jose, Costa Rica.

Gary and Ana Cristina got married in Davie, Florida in 2003. They currently live in Davie, Florida, and they do not have kids yet.

Gary's ancestors come from Alsace,Lorreine-Germany, from his father side, and Poland, from his mother side. Gary has 3 siblins: 2 brothers and one sister. The oldest brother,Robert,is married and has one daugther, and lives in New Jersey. The other brother, Michael, is also married and lives in Texas and has two sons. The sister, Cindy, is single, and lives in Davie, Florida.

Gary's parents are Edward, still alive and resident of New Jersey, and Jeanette, deceased.

Gary works for Broward County for the Environmental Protection Department as a License Coordinator. He has a B.A degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from Montclair State University, New Jersey. Gary has an extensive knowledge of birds, fish, coins, and lighthouses, things that he likes to collect.


Ana Cristina's ancestors come from Costa Rica, from both parents' sides and also from Louvain, Belgium, from his mother side. Ana Cristina has one sister, Silvia Elena Vargas, who lives in Miami, Florida. She is an Urban Planner. She is married to Eduardo Veliz, a Doctor in Chemistry, from Panama. They do not have kids.

Her mom, Flora Rojas Van Dyck, is still alive and lives in San Rafael de Escazu, in Costa Rica. She is retired. She has a degree in Education and Philosophy from The Universidad of Costa Rica. Her father, Ismael Antonio Vargas Bonilla, is deceased. Her father was a lawyer and occupied important positions within the government of Costa Rica. He was the Minister of Education during the Francisco Orlich Administration from 1962 to 1966. Later he became General Attorney during the Luis Alberto Monge Administration from 1982 to 1986. He also was a Constitutional Law Professor for many years at the Universidad of Costa Rica. He obtained his Law Degree from the Universidad Nacional of Bogota, Colombia.
He always expressed his love and admiration for Colombia, country that considered as his second "Patria" or "Country".

Ana Cristina has a B.A in Political Science and a M.A in Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas. Recently(2008) she earned a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University. She hopes she can specialize in Immigration Law and work in a firm in that area.

Gary and Ana Cristina love to travel. This is their greatest passion. They have been many times to Costa Rica, and other countries and they hope they can travel more in the future.
