Currently seeking the parents of John L. Workman, seeking also the father of John N. Fitzgerald of Illinois. John is my great grandfather, born in Nov. of 1852, IL. He wed Margaret E. Fitzgerald of Dolson, Clark, IL, dau. of John N. and had one child, Rosetta Ellen in Clark. After Margaret's death, he and his dau. went to Montevallo, Vernon, MO probably in the company of Hiram Taylor, Justice of the Peace in Clark. He there married Nancy Elizabeth Price and had two sons. John L. Workman d. 27 Nov., 1909 and John N. Fitzgerald d. 1881 in Dolson. There is speculation that John L. Workman is the son of Jeremiah Workman but I have seen no evidence to validate this. Jeremiah lived in IN and had his family there and John was consistent in stating that he was b. in IL. Margaret E. Fitzgerald's mother was Sarah Ann Kemper, b. 1820, Fauquier, VA, also the birthplace in 1808 of Anna Fitzgerald, John N.'s mother.
