Used Lineages Inc. trying to search the Vela name. My grandfather, Francis L. Vela, believed to have been born in New York. Parents were Francesco de Gordelia/Gordella Vela and Amelia Lines. Francesco Vela, believed to have been a diplomat of some sort for either Spain or Cuba in New York City prior to the Spanish/American War. I have not been able to find anything to establish where he died, or where he came from. Amelia Lines, died in New York City, 1902. Buried from Westwood, NJ funeral home. Interred in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY.
