This project has taken 20 plus years. Its now time to put it all together for family and future family members. It was very slow in the beginning, asking questions of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Writing letters to other folks around the country with same last name hoping to find some answers. It was a long process, then the computer age took off and with fast internet it was a lot quicker getting results. I have visited many grave sites and several battle sites. I have visited many libraries including LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, WASHINGTON D.C. local ones in Va. Tn. Ga. NJ. N.Y. S.C. and interviewed a number of people by phone, in person, by snale mail, e-mail and telephone. I have a great love for family history. With many of my ancestors its as if I knew them personally. I am an honorary member of the POLOR BEARS. This was the 85th Division of the 5th army during WW11 which was were my uncle CLEASTON A PATTERSON served during the 2nd world war and became MIA in Italy. I have visited the battle area and the US cemetary in Italy were he fought and were his name is on a wall with 3000 other MIA's and over 7000 graves in the field. You can find his story and that of the 85th by using google and typing in his name and that will bring you to the site. I recently have been sworn in as a SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS in Ga. My gg grandfather Rice Key died in the civil war in Savannah 1862. I have visited that site and the grave yard he is buried. There will be some errors as there are at times conflicts of dates and spelling of names. Some names have been omitted and dates simply because I did not have the information. Thats were family members come in and help. Send me the info or if there is an error send me the corrected information via E-MAIL listed on this page. Look for updates as this is ongoing till Christ returns.
