I've been doing research for about 5 years and every once in a while I've been able to add relatives. However I've not been able to go back further than the 19th century.
I have found out that the name Poyourow (Poyourovsky) which is quite uncommon was adopted by the residents of a small town (of the same name) in the Ukraine; the Tsar decreed that everyone had to have a last name. My father informed me that anybody with the same name was related to us. My grandparents were first cousins. Recently we have been able to add to the family, but laterally.
The Brandinger and Parnes families, at least as far back as I have gone came from Lemburg (L'vov)on the Austrian/Polish borders. The Brandingers came to this country in the late 1800's, and my grandfather seemed to have sisters. They, so far, are lost to me. I know there was a least one sister in Detroit.
The family of my grandmother (Gittel (Gussie)Parnes, remained in Europe and most perished during the holocaust. I had heard that one brother Moses emigrated to Israel and had progeny there.
