Searching for the earliest origins of two familys:
The Widdicombes migrated from Devon/Cornwall (Plymouth/Maker) to London around 1800. They were coopers and shipping clerks, later to become civil servants and lawyers.
The Vyses originated in Staffordshire, became merchants in Birmingham, also migrated to London around 1800 where Thomas Vyse founded a straw hat making firm in Ludgate Street.
