I begin this search looking for my Grandmother,Mary Emma Ludie Kuykendall, who we in the family lovingly called"BigMama". I believe she was born in Arkansas sometime around 1900. I believe she grew up in Mississippi; married her husband,Elzie Vestor Howell and had all her children in Mississippi. Among her few blessings were Lee Viola, Ruby Bell,Elzie Vestor Jr.,Onie Mae, Mildred,Louise and one son she lost early,Clarence. Mary's husband died about the age of thirty-six, we believe in or around Bolivar County. While attempting to accomplish the overwhelming task of raising seven children with no money, no help, and no education, the State Of Mississippi thought it best to take her children, split them up, give them to different homes, breaking her heart and theirs Mary Emma Ludie died early, after a hard and lonely life in about 1955 or so in Washington County,Mississippi. A paragraph for a life is not enough. I believe I can do better by showing her what she left behind and showing us,her descendants, what came before us allowing us the life we now have. Mary and I would appreciate any help you could give.
****Please forgive the lack of further information. My computer caught a nasty ole virus and I am only now catching up on the re-entering of data.****
