Hello to all members of the family with surname Wander or Wanderer with roots to Europe.
Members of my family are gone to overseas in the past from Germany to USA in North America, to Argentina, Paraguay and Brasil in South America.
Roots in my family are now know till the period before 1500, first documents are found in 1537 with Peter Wander and sons as glass maker (third owner of a glass works) since 1529 in Crottendorf (elder writings: Krotendorf, Crotendorf) in Erzgebirge in Saxony later 1550-1600 with Georg Wander and sons in Grünwald = Gruenwald or Grunwald Isergebirge (Iser mountains)in North East Bohemia, Peter Wander and sons since 1598 in Friedrichswald in North East Bohemia, Elias and Georg Wander and sons in Labau in North East Bohemia and with Elias Wanderer since 1611 as glass painter and glass maker family in Bischofsgruen - Bischofsgrün - Bischofsgrun in Fichtelgebirge near Bayreuth (since this time written Wanderer), later in different Thuringia forest locations (German: Thüringen und Thüringer Wald) in the glass maker region Lauscha und Neuhaus.
Since 1750 a lot of family members are gone in other professional fields and other places. If you have family members who are coming from old Austria and/or Bohemia locations, it could be that we are cousins. If your name is Wanderer from locations in Bavaria in South Germany or parts of Austria it is not sure, that we are relatives but we have the same family name. Till now there are four tribes known with the same family name.
