My interest in genealogy began when my sister was taking part in a medical study which involved tracing the matriarchal line and smaller back as possible. She was able to trace some of the ancestors back to the 1500s. Since my sister had adequately covered the matriarchal line, I chose to concentrate on the patriarchal line.

Although there were several genealogy programs available they only recorded information that you had to find out by yourself. What I had expected was something like the current program with a built-in search capability. Shall instead of searching for my father's ancestors I merely recorded information my sister already had on the matriarchal line.

Then I found this site. It has been immensely useful in tracking down my father's ancestors.
