One of the earliest Wark's to come to Canada was George Frederick James Wark, known as James Wark.He was a methodist in the County Of Donegal, Ireland. He married Mary Ann Terry and they came to Canada and settled at Fitzroy Harbour, on the Ottawa River, in Ontario. He was a cobbler by trade and Mary Ann was a millner. Thet had a large family but only five grew to adulthood. Their children; Frederick,born; June 1853 at Arnprior,Ontario, died Feb.6,1912, at Minto, Manitoba. Fred married Mary Elizabeth Cawston Aitkin Dec.9.1896. 2. Harry, born;Sept.5,1850 at Fitzroy Harbour,Ontario, died May 29,1926,at Quebec. Harry married Margaret Caroline Lyster, March 5,1891. 3. Robert Louden, born;unknown died 1930's at Three Hills Alberta. He never married 4. Sarah, married James Thompson. 5.Mary Ann, passed away in her early 20's of T.B. Mary Ann Terry had a Irish cousin who was a very famous actress, her name was Ellen Terry. Robert Louden was a rancher at Wyoming, U.S.A. he migrated to Three Hills Alberta in 1905 taking up a homestead and farming. Harry and Frederick apprenticed as shoe makers at Fitzroy Harbour. Fred logged on the river, floating logs down to the mills. Harry practised shoe making at Rat Portage,(Kenora) and Brandon. Harry went to Minto where he married Margaret Lyster who at that time lived with her family just east of Minto.Sarah came at this time and married James Thompson who was homesteading on the same section of land as Fred Wark. Sarah and James moved onto Boissevain, Manitoba. Fred married Mary Elizabeth Cawston Aitkin in 1896. Mary (1878-1947) was born at Stratford, Ontario. Fred was a strong methodist, he taught Sunday School at Minto, Manitoba for many years. Fred and Mary had eight boys . 1. Lawrence Louden, born Sept.6,1897 at Minto,Manitoba,died May 7,1917, at Vimy Ridge,France , killed in action with the 222nd Battalion. 2.Edwin Wesley 3.James Andrew 4.John Frederick 5.William Aitkin 6.Robert Henry 7.George Wilfred 8.Darcy
