Many of the Ward's in the immediate chain are located in Kentucky, in towns like Louisville, Owensboro, Philpott, Reed, etc. Some of us, however, relocated outside of Kentucky in other states like North Carolina, Oklahoma, California, and others. (I often think back to an adventurous boyhood in Reed, Earlington, and Providence, Kentucky. I can't imagine a better place to spend a childhood.)

Now I'd like to learn as much as possible about the "Ward" ancestry, and all of the other names associated with it. Did we come from Germany, England, or Ireland? Do we have native american blood as was supposedly told - in a family bible - and is it Cherrokee, Creek, or other?
