Albert Gustav Voss was born in Altenplaten, Prussia on 11 January 1852 and lived there until he was 18 years old and decided to come to America with his brother, Hermann. Their sister, Louisa was already here! After settling in Texas, working as a farmer's helper until he could save enough money to purchase some land in the Zorn/Staples area - between Seguin and San Marcos. Where he lived for many years.
On 14 March 1873, he married Frederica Dietert who was born in Prussia, 16 June 1853. She came to America with her parents; Fritz, Sr/Marie (Dreibrodt) Dietert.
Albert and Frederica had 9 children: Louise, Hedwig, Willie, Richard, Minna, Alma, Marie, Bertha and Albert, Jr.
Albert died 18 April 1917 and Frederica died 30 September 1936 both are buried in the Zorn Cementery, Zorn, Texas.
