I am gathering information on my genealogy due to many stories I was told by grandparents and great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.
1. I am the 7th cousin to U.S. Grant
2. I am the 5th cousin to Samuel Clemens or Mark Twain
3. We have ties to the Ramseys Castle in England
4. A relative was Lord Mayor of London
5. My great-grandfather Bird Ward, Cherokee Indian, has an Irish last name. Could I be a decendant of an Indentured Servant?
6. I have two known relatives that served in the Union Army during the Civil War. They were W.E. Nesbitt and the other was a German named Korf. I have 3 great uncles that served in the army during WW1. One grandfather that served in WW2. My father served in the Korean conflict and Vietnam. I served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf war.
