Hello to anyone visting this site. My name is Kathleen Warbrick, born October 16, 1964. I am married to John Wesley Warbrick, born August 29, 1959 in Ontario, Canada. My maiden name was Kathleen Anne Glomba. I was born and raised in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. We are trying to peice together a family history for our children, and locate a long lost one.
We have a spotty history at best.
On my mother's side there are the Homers and Lanquists from Sointula. A finnish fishing village founded on Malcom Isl, British Columbia- Canada at the beggining of the 20th Century. The original surname used by the Homer family was Hunkula. I have learned that they were among the original pioneers of the town. The Lanquist family is still very strong in the area. On My father's side the only name I have is Glomba. They moved here from Winnipeg when he was a boy. And that his heritage is European. (White Russian ?)My father Frank Glomba died when I was small. He has two brothers Walter and John, and a sister, Jenny, who moved to the United States over 30 years ago. My husband John Warbrick was adopted by Carl and Gertrude Warbrick of Ontario, Canada - when he was a baby. They had adopted his biological sister the year before, and agreed to take him as well. We know that Gertrude originates from Holland, and Carl from England. We also know from family stories that they met during WWII. We have no information on his biological parents. My husband was involved with another woman before we got married. Her name was Loretta Conklin. They met in Ontario and moved out to the west coast together. Loretta left and returned to Ontario in 1981, never telling John she was pregnant. We learned through family connections that they had a son. She refused any access or communications. Then she seemed to vanish. We would like to find him and have him know that he has a family. Twin sisters and a brother. He even has a niece and nefew now! We believe that his name is Quinten and that he was born around the spring of 1982.
This family tree and history is his too- he is a part of it. If you know any of these names, please leave me a note. Thank-you
