Hello Everybody, We have been researching our family ancestors for about 6 years now, have found it very interesting and rewarding. So far we have got back to the mid 1700's and early 1800's, We have done a lot of research at Record Offices, and have gathered quite a few cetificates, that really help, but as you know, the further you get back, the harder it gets, so recently we have concentrated alot on the internet, in the hope of finding more information.
Surnames that we are researching include :-
CLAYTON, CROCKETT, HUTCHINSON, LEA, NEWELL, ROBERTS, SCOTT, WARD, WARNER and YARDLEY (Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Nottingham & Derby. UK) READING, WILKES. (Worcestershire) BARBER, BIRD, MALIN, MOWE, NOON, NORTH and STAFFORD (Coventry area of Warwickshire) BARLOW, GERRARD, WILLIAMS and WOLFENDALE.(Bolton & Farnworth, Lancashire. On the Ward line we have got back to Edward WARD about 1863 to 1909, he was born in Warwickshire, UK his wifes name was Polly, and they had at least one child Harold Edward. Anyway, we live in the northern area of England, and have relatives who live in America, we have been on visits to the States and have had some great times visiting. I have unfortunately had to retire from work early, due to bad health, (heart problems) and disabilities caused by arthritis, so I can't get about the same as I used to, I really enjoy spending time on my computer, (too much sometimes, according to my wife, ha,ha) Well Please visit this page again soon, as I will try to keep it updated, But why don't you visit the link below, as this will take you to Our Ward Family Website, this is a brand new site that we launched in September 2004, it has so much information, such as many census extracts, family register Reports, History into the Occupations of our Ancestors and also some history of the Towns that they came from, plus so much more, we are sure that you will enjoy your visit, Hope to see you there.
Best wishes to you all, and if you have any comments or can help us in our research we would be pleased to hear from you. Peter - pwandcw@yahoo.co.uk Peter.
