We have been able to ascertain that the Warings arrived in Melbourne, australia in 1854 after originally sailing on the Barque the "Sir Powell Buxton" from London in 1852.
My Grandfather's father was a builder and built the Block Arcade in Melbourne which still stands today. My grandfather's grandfather was the passenger on the Barque mentioned above.
My father's cousin travelled to England and looked around the records in Cornwall but found that the Warings had originally come from Wales. We are trying to establish that Welsh connection and continue building the family tree of Warings in Australia.
My grandfather is one of 8 children who are all dead now. We would like to trace the Waring, Gair and Eddy families in Australia and back to England or Wales.
Also, my mothers family (Davies) has a family tree and history that also eminates from Cornwall in the 1850s so I am keen to follow this to complete my own personal family tree.
