George H. Blacketer (son of Vincent Lockman Blacketer and Lucinda Stewart) was born May 24, 1847 in Deep Creek, Mercer County, Kentucky, and died May 22, 1925 in Willisburg, Washington County, Kentucky. He married Martha Jane Terrell on October 10, 1871 in Springfield, Kentucky, daughter of William Terrell and Nancy Colvin.

George H. Blacketer served in Co K of the Civil War regiment 4th TN Cavalry (Union). He enlisted Feb 19, 1864, and stated at that time that he was age 18, b Mercer Co., KY. However, the 1850 Mercer Co census has a George BLACKKE age 4, which would make him 16 when he enlisted. Two other sons in that family, ADDISON and DAVID, both served in Co H of the 1st KY Cav.
