William & Norman Blacketer, sons of William, bought land in Mercer County, Kentucky November 8, 1806. Rachel evidently came to Kentucky with them as she is also listed in the 1810 Mercer County, Kentucky Census along with them. In the 1820 Mercer County census John, Henry & Daniel are listed.

Blacketer / Blackketter / Blacketter -
The BLACKKETTER spelling seems to be limited to the descendants of Spencer BLACKKETTER, the son of William BLACKETTER Jr. and Elizabeth Algood/Allgood. The descendants of their sons' Alexander, Westley and John Henry spell their name BLACKETTER. Their son William and his descendents use the spelling BLACKETER. In William Blacketter Jr's will note the BLACKETTER spelling.

In the name of God, Amen. I William Blacketter, of Mercer County being weak in body but sound in mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same, but considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and claim this my last will and testament revoking all other wills. I do recommend my soul to God for whom I received it humbly, trusting for the full pardon of all my sins through Jesus Christ by beloved savior.

And as to what worth by ___ and ____ it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give to my beloved wife Margaret Blacketter, two-hundred dollars in silver which is to be laid out in land in the Indiana. I also give my wife one hundred dollars to move her and settle her in Indiana. And for her when there and two mares and all my stock of cattle but one cow and calf. I also give to my wife all my stock of hoge and Ten head of sheep of her choyce, also all of her bed and furniture but one and all cubbord furniture and all her pots and kettles and oven and her house and kitchen furniture during her widow ____. The same is to be kept till my youngest comes of age and portioned of with the oldest. I give my oldest son, William Blacketter one horse beast, Alexander Blacketter one horse beast, Wesly Blacketter one horse beast, John H Blacketter on horse beast, Spencer Blacketter one of the choyse of the above named mares colts, I also give to my daughter Rachel Blacketter her bed and one cow and calf. I also give to my sister-in-law Charlotte Lockman one bed and furniture. I also wish my youngest children to be raised on my estate and be made equal with my oldest David, Thomas, Elizabeth, Jefferson and Olive Blacketter and the balance of my estate to be sold and divided equally among my children in wittness when I have here unto set my hand and seal this Tuesday the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord 1822.
