Mary Lockman (b. June 23, 1833, d. April 13, 1874)
Mary Lockman (daughter of John B. Lockman and Holly (Hettie) Blacketer) was born June 23, 1833 in Jackson County, Indiana, and died April 13, 1874 in Appanoose County, Iowa. She married James Hugh Taylor on December 27, 1855 in Wapello County, Iowa.
Notes for Mary Lockman: There is a discrepancy in the birth year of Mary Lockman & her twin Moses Lockman. The 1850 Indiana census lists Mary & Moses as age 19; The Iowa 1856 census lists Mary as age 25, both calculate birth year 1831. Then on Sept. 12, 1863, Mary gives a deposition applying for pension on James H. Taylor's Civil War military service stating her age is 33 years, which calculates her birth year as 1830. This conflicts with the data on the tombstones for her and Moses date of 1833.
