The WEIHAUSEN's of Texas

About Our Family Research


The Weihausens immigrated to Texas in 1872 through the Port of Galveston. Claus Weihausen died in 1890 when he was accidentally shot by a hunter. "Mina" died in the Great Hurricane that hit Galveston in 1901. They lived on "P 1/2" street in Galveston. After the hurricane, Mina's family, the Schapers took the kids in and raised them. They were primarily in the dairy business.
