FORTNER(NC?-GA-FL)-VICKERS(FL)-RIDDLE(FL)-WEEKS(SC?-AL-FL)

Updated May 21, 2008

About Our Family Research

It is August of 2002 and I have only just begun. I have found out a lot due to the increasing abundance of data accessable on the web. Thank God for the internet!

FORTNER - Our line of Fortners came from Emanuel County Georgia. Thus far the matriarch seems to be Sarah(Sally) Fornter. The first I have found on her is in the 1820 census for Emanuel County. She is listed as Sally. Her son Swain Montgomery Fortner is my line. His son Ebenezer Swain Fortner(b. 22Feb 1842 Kite Emanuel Georgia, d. 23 Feb 1908 Scott's Ferry Calhoun Florida, buried. Poplar Baptist Church Cemetary Clarksville Florida)married Fannie(Francis?) Harris(b. 25 Dec 1857 ?, D. 29 Dec 1924 Scott's Ferry Calhoun Florida, Buried. Poplar Baptist Church Cemetary Clarksville Florida) on 18 Jan 1874 in Johnson County Georgia. They moved to Scott's Ferry Calhoun Florida on 20 Nov 1900.

VICKERS-RIDDLE - These were my mother's maternal family line.

WEEKS-WHITE - This is my paternal line. They came from Geneva and Coffee counties Alabama. I believe Benjamin Weeks originally came from South Carolina.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted via email at raweeks@comcast.net.
