Updated November 14, 2004

About Our Family Research

The Hutchinson family I have traced go back to Barnard Hutchinson before 1282 of Cowlam, Yorkshire, Eng. I have traced father to son up to myself. Still need lots of dates and other info. though. I know the family originated in Scotland. I am particularly interrested in one Mary E. Brown born abt 1821/22 in New Hampshire. She married William Hutchinson and they had 11 children, the youngest--Harry Vern--is my Great Grandfather. They met in MA working in a shoe factory, moved back to N.H.where they were married. Their first 5 children wher born in N.H. then they moved to N.Y. where their next 5 children where born at which time they moved to Kansas where my Great Grandfather was born in Buffalo,Wilson,Kansas. I have found them in the 1870 & 1880 U S Census.
Richard Hutchinson was the first to migrate from England to MA in abt 1634--he was my 8th Great Grandfather.

The Burns side of my family comes from Indiana and maybe Iowa.
My 3rd Great Grandfather--John Burns, born abt 1805 in Iowa. His father was a Michael Burns married in Harrison Co.,IN., to a Mary Eva Splitstone. Linage goes Michael,John,George W., James W. Burns to my grandmother Lillie Burns Hutchinson.
