Hello, My name is Jerry Kay Wells and I was born in West Union, OH (Adams County), b. 12/24/47, I am the youngest of my brothers and sisters...

My brothers and sisters names are;

1) Norma Jean (Wells) Brown, b. 2/16/28, dec'd July 12, 2001, finial resting place; Powers Cemetery, Denniston, Ky buried next to our brother Freddie Lee Wells, Arrangements were made by Menifee Home For Funerals in Frenchburg, KY
2) Carolyn Sue (Wells) Dick, b. 3/12/44
3) Charles Afton Wells, b. 12/29/34
4) Courtney Clarence Wells, b. 9/8/36
5) Fredie Lee Wells, b. 1940. dec'd 1940, buried at Frenchburg, KY
6) Donald Ray Wells, b. 3/12/46...

According to studies found, one done by a certified genealogical record searcher, the famous Pocahontas, the Indian Maiden who supposedly saved Captain John Smith's life, and John Rolfe, Jr., a wealthy Virginia planter, were ancestors of the Gambrells, Hensleys, and Brewers on the Brewer side of the family through the Bowling line. Details of this linkage are stated with Bolling, Boling, or Bowling spellings.

My grandmother, on my mothers side, America (Gibson) Bowling is said to have been about 3/4's part Indian.

My grandmother's dad, Dave Gibson was born in Letcher County, KY about 1835... He came to Red Bird of Clay County. Here he married Polly Ann Hensley, a daughteer of Ben Hensley.

Ben Hensley's grandparents were Levi and Susie Ann Metcalf.

David Gibson a Civil War Veteran-co.-L-14, KY Calvary.

Clang Hensley, America (Gibson) Bowling's Uncle, was Killed at Chattanooga, TENN (some battle hill).

My fathers name; Dorsey Franklin Wells, b. September 5, 1907 - This information was taken from form ss-5 and his address was at Walkertown Station, Hazard, KY... At that time he was working for Columbus Mining Company located at Allaiia, KY... My dad filled out this form on October 16, 1939 and he was 32 years old., dec'd 1986... His fathers name; Bennie Monroe Wells, b. ???, dec'd ???...

My dads mother died when he was 9 years old, Her name was; Martha Davis. I have very little information on either of my grand parents.

My dad had two brothers and one sister;

1) "Brother" Courtney C. Wells, my Uncle Courtney was Circuit Judge in Hazard, KY for about 14 years.

2) "Brother" Noah Wells, Noah's wifes name was Ida (???) Wells and they had two boys, Edward and ???...

3) "Sister" Hala (Wells) Brewer and they had three boys, Rex, Ralph and Densmore.
