According to studies found, one done by a certified genealogical record searcher, the famous Pocahontas, the Indian Maiden who supposedly saved Captain John Smith's life, and John Rolfe, Jr., a wealthy Virginia planter, were ancestors of the Gambrells, Hensleys, and Brewers on the Brewer side of the family through the Bowling line. Details of this linkage are stated with Bolling, Boling, or Bowling spellings.
My grandmother, on my mothers side, America (Gibson) Bowling is said to have been about 3/4's part Indian.
My grandmother's dad, Dave Gibson was born in Letcher County, KY about 1835... He came to Red Bird of Clay County. Here he married Polly Ann Hensley, a daughteer of Ben Hensley.
