Research has included old family records of birth certificates, places where we have lived. A trip to Kansas and Missourii to visit relatives and ask questions about where we have come from. With the loss of my Mother Elsie Mae Middleton-Wells last year in 2002 on the 16th. day of April my mother pasted away, and I will miss her so very much; With her passing I have been wanting so much to know more about my family roots. My Mother was such a strong person! I wonder is that in our genes? I want to know as much as I can about my beautiful family! Maybe it will close this empty gap I have in the missing of my Parents.
May 10, 1960 my Father died. I was 14 years old. His death always left a emptyness, that I could never fill. It was years ago but now with the death of my Mother, thoughs old feelings of emptyness has come back.
My Father was in vaudeville in the 1900's (115 KB) Vaudeville was a big part of my Father's life. He loved to tell jokes. I still have a "prop" he used in meny acts in the 1900's. They are a pair of false glasses with a hugh nose attached to them, in-a-way like a Jimmy Durante type nose. This picture was used for my Father's billing and introduction at the the ole' theaters. W.C.Feilds was one of my Father's favorate comedians, I have a very old aulbumn with some of the W.C. Feilds jokes and humerous stand-up comedy with a happy ending! Thank's Dad, the humor you had and the jokes we shared has lasted me a life time! My Father died at the age of 76 years old from a decease called: Scaraderma, witch was unheard of in the 50's and finally got known of in 1960 when he passed away.
Teenager Girl plays her Trumpet (81 KB) This is a picture of my Mother. As a teenager in the 1900's she played trumpet at her high school band located in Kansas. Her favorate piece was of music was "Flight of the Bumble Bea". From what she told me she enjoyed playing her trumpet very much!
