Welcome to the WELLS/PATNODE family information page! I am researching my WELLS/PATNODE family line.


I am starting with my grandfather: Clarence Edward WELLS. per his death certificate he was b. 24 DEC 1912, in Springfield, Massachusetts. d. 16 JUN 1953, in New York, on his way home from work in Poughkeepsie, New York. He is buried in Silverlake Cemetery, Athol, Massachusetts. On his death certificate it said his parents were Frank WELLS and Edith May FOSTER.

My grandfather may have gone by PATNODE back around 1920. Sometime between 1920 and 1927 his last name was changed to WELLS. According to the 1920 Census for Athol, MA, his mother was Edith M. Patnode, widowed. They lived near a George H. and Hattie FOSTER. I am looking to see if they are Edith's parents.
