My maiden name is HIRVONEN and I, along with my parents and siblings, were born in Finland. My father's name: Toivo Veikko August Hirvonen, b: 31 Oct, 1916 in Joroinen, Finland and registered in the Rantasalmi parish in 1936 (Soldiers' Passport).
His father's name was Petter (Pekka) August Hirvonen, b:10 Apr, 1884 in Raakkyla and moved to Kuopio, Finland 12 Jan, 1912 (Kuopio parish register).
Petter August had 3 brothers - Heikki b:1 Dec, 1875, Tahvo b: 6 Sept 1877 and Juhana b: 7 May, 1881. Sister- Aina b: 16 Feb, 1890
Petter (Pekka) was the 4th of 5 children, all born in Raakkyla.
Great grandfather name was: Mikko HIRVONEN b: 23 May, 1847
in Kiihtelysvaara and died 17 Jan, 1907 whilst great grandmother's maiden name was Eeva Stiina MAKKONEN b: 8 May, 1852 and died: 16 May 1907. Both great grandparents died in Raakkyla, Finland.
