Was thought that a brother traveled to California.Welch family connections in southern Illinois - Blairsville, Herrin and Hurst.

Harlan)nee Murphy born Sept 22, 1849 in Auburn, died Jan 17, 1922. Article traces her roots to her grandfather Elijah Harlan, burined in Cumberland Presbyteriam cemetary, Virden or Auburn? and he was veteram of War of 1812. Elizabeth was married to James A. Murphy, Nov 21, 1867. They had 10 children: 8 listed as Wm. F. of Pawnee, Chas.
