The English Family and Their Ancestors 1500's - 2005 Updated March 24, 2009
About Our Family Research
This branch of the English Family originally came from New Jersey in 1700's, through Georgetown, D. C., Virginia, Kansas and finally Oklahoma in the late 1800's.
Englishtown, New Jersey was named for our direct ancestor, James English.
Our family has a direct line of ancestors to the Van Dyke, Van Doren, Van Kouwenhoven (Conover), Montfoort and other early families. Many of these families were founding fathers of our country, settling in New Ultrecht and New Amsterdam. Many were patent holders and many held offices in the government of the time.
