Yep I'm investigating at least seven families!
The Westwoods are from the Birmingham, UK area and were assayer and coin makers for England and Colonial America -- The Cliftons sold coal, and the Bullocks also hail from from the Midlands region of England; and the Dillons (William aka Bill) from County Cork, Ireland, and emigrated to Birmingham England in the early 1900s.
The DeHault/DeLassus/St.Vrain family, originated in Bouchain, France (Flanders), emigrated to Pennsylvania or Ohio in 1790, went on to Ste. Genevieve, MO (actually the Marquis had his own settlement called Nouvelle Bourbon) and New Orleans.....and eventually to Colorado and New Mexico, making mucho in the fur trade.
