So far I have found that my grandfather, James McQueen's mother Jenny McQueen Horton had 3 sisters, and 2 half brothers: Stella, who dies early in life, Francis McQueen Jackson, Evelyn McQueen Shear, and brothers Ebb McQueen, and Frank McQueen. The boys had a different mother, from a previous marriage. I don't know if she died or they divorced.
Their parents names were Jim and Betty McQueen. Betty mat have beena Locket. They lived in either Memphis or Nashville, then moved to Mountain City, TN, and from there to Boone, NC around 1923 or 1924. Since then, my family has been in Boone.
We currently do not have family reunions, as almost everyone still lives in Boone.
Since we are African Americans, I have found it very difficult to find out any more than what my grandfather remembers.
