We have researched and traced back our family tree to 1 May 1898
when Leopold Wicentowich (also spelled Wincintowich,Wincentowich,Wiczntowich and Wincentowicz)with his wife Irene and son Dmitro embarked and sailed on the SS Palatia from Hamburg Germany stopping in New York USA,arriving and disembarking in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada.
We have traced their journey via railroad to Fort Saskatchewan North West Territories,( Now known as Edmonton Alberta).From there they went on foot and ox team to settle in what is known as the Edna-Star area,just northwest of present day Mundare Alberta.Leopold settled and was granted the deed to -Parcel 2,NW,Section 24,Township 55,Range 17,Meridan W4.
We would appreciate any imformation that is previous to the immigration from Hamburg Germany May 1 1898.We are lead to believe that Leopold,s father was in the passenger and freight hauling field in the village of Nebyliw,in the Lviv area of the Ukraine.
