My family research has taken me back into Devonshire, England, in the year 1523. During the English Civil War, my ancestor, Thomas Whicker, immigrated as an indentured servant to the Virginia Colony. Since that time, Whicker became Wicker & many ancestors fought in both the American Revolution and the American Civil War (both sides). I've identified many of these soldiers, their spouses, etc... This research has been a journey into humanity & history, bringing formerly nameless, faceless ancestors to life. I continue to research more, especially those who fought for causes and gave their lives for freedom. I welcome input & information.
