In 1995, following some promising genealogical research by my late father's cousin, I managed to "tie together" some loose ends which eventually became the basis of our personal genealogical endeavors. Since then, we have filled in several missing links in both paternal and maternal lines for each of our parents and their ancestors. Fortunately, my wife's paternal grandmother's family has been well documented by Lars E. Oyane of Norway. Her mother's paternal family line had been begun on this side of the Atlantic by a sister allowing for some generous direction while researching the digital archives in Norway. A 16 day trip to Norway in 1997 taught us much in how to look for data in the central Norwegian archives. Two years of "local" research later on 8 different family lines led to a 35 day trip to England, Germany and Norway. Several pieces of information were substantiated during that visit and the family trees began to flourish. At the same time, another second cousin of my late father shared his well researched family history to allow for a connection of my father's maternal family line to Pennsylvania, Germany, and England. Currently, I am searching for continued documentation of passage from the old countries to the US.
Family names which are currently being investigated include:
