The Wikoffs we know are traceable back to Pieter Claesen Wyckoff, born: Jan 06, 1625 died: Jun 30, 1694 but we still have a few connections to make before getting to there. My father's side of the family (Wikoff & Paxton, go back to Vernon Co, Missouri). My mother's side of the family are the Bells & Schwappachs and I know they go back to Illinois but I have a lot of connections to make on this side of the family. I have just begun my genealogical research.
On my wife's (Janice Louise Hill) side of the family we have been given quite a bit of information. We can trace her family(Associated names: Hill, Houston, Bruce, McNeel, Walkup, Edmiston, Smith, Davis, Seely, West, DeHaven, Morrison) back to Putnam County, Missouri and from there to Pocahontas County, WV, Kentucky, Mississippi, Virginia and North Carolina. We have two documented Revolutionary War veterans (Richard Hill and William Bruce) in the tree as well. Someone in the family has information that traces the Bruce lineage to the King of Sotland mentioned in the movie Bravehart but we do not have that information other than what we have been told. Until in hand we can make no claims in this direction.
