There is speculation that Elizabeth Hall, may have been Cherokee Indian. This is speculation only.
However the story is that her mother and father died while she was very young.
She was taken in by a white family, and became virtually a slave. At some time
she ran away and was taken in by the Hall family and was raised as one of their
own. She took the Hall name as her family name as if she had been adopted.
