Alfred Reece (son of John Adam Reece and Mary Ottinger) was born 1830 in Greene Co Tenn, and died date unknown. He married Elizabeth Phipps on December 04, 1856 in Greene Co. Tenn.

Alfred enlisted, as a private, in the 4th Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers, US Army. After two years of battle, he was captured by Cofederate forces. In Captivity, he became illwith fever, possible from Malaria (which wasvery common), and died on May 26,1865 at the Sedgewick Military hospital in Greenville,Louisinna. He was buried at Chalmette National Cemetery, square 37, grave 92, in Chalette, Louisianna.
Alfred was one of Four sons of John and Mary Reece who lost their lives during the Cicil War
