This family tree has been compiled (over 2400 names at present) based on the family ancestors/descendants of Helen Marguerite Amey and her husband John Hubert Wilson. The family tree on the maternal side goes back 13 generations to 1657. Within this line, we have an United Empire Loyalist, David Amey, and his brother Jonas, who were forced to flee home when Britian lost the American Revolution. These brothers fought with the Jessup Rangers. His father, Nicolass remained in the Anericas and never saw his two sons again. There are several articles outlining some of the battles during the war and the eventual escape to Canada. David Amey's ancestors were part of the 2nd Palatine Group to settle in the Albany, New York area. The original stone homestead built in 1740 stills stands and was restored in the mid- 1980's to a functioning home once again.
On the paternal Wilson side, we have 10 generations documented going back to Tyrone, Ireland. Through the Wilson side we tie in with many Irish settler families and I hope that more information will become available after the publication of this page.
Lorraine Wilson
I am very intersted in any one who can shed more light on this large group of people. Of further interest will be future publication of photographs of many of these individuals. Mrs. Helen Wilson has over 100 pre-1918 black & whites, some going as far back as the early 1800's. It is my intention to create a visual record to go along with the family geneology.
