This particular Wilkinson Family Page has generated alot of interest from the younger descendants, especially those located in Indiana.
At present, our research stops with Clifford M. or CM Wilkinson
(SON OF: John Wilkinson of Ohio and Elizabeth McDaniel of Missouri)
born: 2/18/1875, Iowa
Spouse: Ida Maria Adams
born: March 5, 1875, Lamona (Lamoni), Iowa
Marriage date: 4/4/1892 Adair County, Iowa
Ida's Father: Francis Marin Adams, born in Illinois 2/25/1844
Ida's Mother: Sarah Susan Minor, born in Iowa 5/28/1851
Both Francis and Sarah Adams are buried in Creston, Iowa.
Clifford and Ida had 4 children.
1. Ronald B. Wilkinson
born: 1893, Minnesota
Spouse: Clara Burkhardt in Indiana in 1920
2. Hazel Wilkinson
born: 1896, Iowa
Spouse: Perry J. Barton
3. Harold Wilkinson
born: 1899, Iowa
Spouse: Willo(w) ? Unsure
4. Paul Wilkinson
born: 1901, Minnesota
Clifford only appears in 2 United States Census pages listed belows:
1. 1900 United States Census, Worthington, Nobles Minnesota shows CM Wilkinson married to Ida Mae (son Paul yet to be born). Ronald, Hazel and Harold are also shown within the home at the time of the census.
a. Clifford tells the census taker that his Father was born in Ohio and his Mother was born in Iowa.
2. 1910 United States Census, School District 2, Valley, Montant shows Clifford Wilkinson married to a Katherine (last name unknown). The source once again shows that Clifford was born in 1867 and from Iowa. It states that Katherine and Clifford were only married one year (making the marriage date 1909) at the time of the census. It also shows a child with the name of Ruth B. in the household. Ruth was 11 years of age, meaning that Katherine had been born before the marriage of Clifford and Katherine, and that she had been previously married.
Family records state that after the birth of Clifford and Ida's last son Paul (1901), Clifford left Minnesota to find work in California. Ida Maria decided to take her children to her sister Clara May Adams Clark (Husband-John Alvia Clark) and went to California to try to find Clifford. We were told a divorce ensued after her pursuit of him and she returned to Iowa.
Family records also state that supposedly Clifford went to California and remarried there.
Ida Maria Adams, apparently was married several times after Clifford. We have found the names of 3 other spouses.
1. Frank Bowen
2. James F. Daniels (b. 1873, Illinois d. 1916, Iowa)
3. John Bartlett (b. Iowa, d. Iowa)
1900 United States Census married to Clifford with having had all children but Paul (born 1901).
1910 United States Census, Athens Township, Ringgold County, Iowa shows Ida Mae being married to James F. Daniels and that Ronald and Harold live within the household (stepsons).
Spouse #2 for Ida Mae:
James F. Daniels
born: 1873, Illinois
Family records state that James F. Daniels was gorred to death by a bull while working in the fields. He is buried in Hamilton Cemetery - near Mount Ayr, Iowa.
We were told that Ida Maria was eventually engaged for a 5th time, however, she broke her hip and passed away in a nursing home in Iowa where she is also buried. We have been told that she is buried in either Leon, Lamona, or Davis City, Iowa. And the cemetery is Rose Hill.
Unfortunately for the Indiana Wilkinson's, Clifford is where our research stops. The rest of the family has branched out nicely, as we continue to find and add individuals and their families all over the United States.
This family homepage is in no way a complete or totally accurate account, rather a start to getting the family and children more interested in their heritage.
If you have any questions, comments OR information, I will gladly read and respond quickly.
