About Our Family Research

Luther and Leonard Profitt, two brothers that married two sisters, Ollie and Maggie Centers, daughters of James Tandy Centers and Caroline Sparks Centers in Kentucky, and they settled in North Central Idaho via Sumpter, Oregon. Their mother, Samyrah Jimison Profitt Brandenburg came with Ollie and Maggie on the train abt 1908, with Ollie's first daughter, Bertha Edith. John Calvin Profitt came out to Idaho about 1898 and married again. His second wife was Louisa Venters.

Other family searches are for descendants of Tandy Centers who married Caroline Sparks in Kentucky; Spencers, Hattons, Balcom's from upper state New York, Wise's in Indiana, Robbs in Tennessee, and my on-going search for Margaret Alice Gonce, my husbandís mother who died in Montana in 1918, and for any leads on my g grandmother's family Jimison.

My cousin, Virginia Profitt Page and I keep up on the local family history - and have through the years. Her father was Leonard Profitt by his second marriage to Lena Rebecca Olsen. My grandfather was Luther Profitt. We have never researched in the past, as much as we have been doing this past year. Technology has brought us closer to finding ancestors we've wondered about for decades. We'll be submitting to the web what we have here in Idaho. So if there are links - let us know.
