The Urquharts of Aberdeen, Scotland

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

I have extensive records of the Urquharts from Aberdeen area and would be grateful to hear of any Aberdeen connections. There is an Alexander Urquhart who emigrated to America and became Treasurer of San Pedro. He drowned off the coast of San Pedro in 1891. His wife Sarah made the first U.S. flag the town ever owned which was flown during the 4th of July celebrations about 1885. His brother George Moore Urquhart emigrated to India and in 1892 at the time of his death had attained the position of Deputy Commissioner in Bombay. I would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have information about these two individuals.
