I am searching the Hoyt, Magoon, Litchfields,Wheeler,Elkins, and Whitcombs. I am living in California at the present, but I am from Orleans(village) Vermont, in the county of Orleans. Quite a few of my ancestors were from th Eastern townships of Quebec, Canada. I have hit the perverbial brick wall concerning my Hoyt side. The Magoon side I can go back to Henry Magoon in 1600 Scotland. My great gandfather Horace Magoon married Caroline Litchfield. Their daughter, Eva Magoon married George Hoyt(married mid 1800's). George and Eva had a son Darrell(my father, born 29 May 1902 d. 13 Jan 2002). George Hoyt's parents were William B. Hoyt and Mary E. Hunt. William's parents were Benjamin Hoyt and Roxanna Harron (some say spelling Harran). That is as far as I can go on my Hoyt side. My Wheeler side I believe I go back to Obadiah. Elkins, back to Gershom. I went back to Vermont in December of 2001 and visited with my parents and brothers and sisters. My father was able to give me some information before he passed away. My mother (maiden name Wheeler) is still living and taking care of the home she and my father shared for 69 years. That same house is the same house my father and his parents moved to when my father was 3 months old in 1902. As I get further along in my research, I will be making additions. I will be glad to help anyone and would appreciate any further information any one could give me. Mermories are yours, rememberances are yours. Remember and cherish those who came before you.
