About Our Family Research

I have been researching my family for the last 18 months. It is a slow growing process. We have not scheduled a family reunion as yet, but plan on doing one shortly. I have found numerous cousins that I didn't know I had, especially finding one of my first cousins was very emotional for me. My mother had lost track of her only brother back in the 1930's and never knew where or how to find him. I found his death date on the SSDI and sent for it. When I got it I found the name of his son and checked the phone book to see if he was listed. I wasn't even sure if this person was living. The lady I spoke to was his wife and when I told her who I was, she was so excited. She went and got her husband and I proceeded to explain to him our relationship. He was so happy and told me he had been looking all over for family that he knew he had on his father's side. We had been in constant contact since then. I haven't met him yet but we are looking forward to it. He is 71 years old.
