The Hazleton and Woy Families

Updated February 4, 2002

About Our Family Research

We are researching the Hazleton and Woy Families. My husband's father's family the Hazleton's came from Ireland in the 1880s to settle in
Illinois. His mother's family, the Allens, the Shively's the Henry's the Cassidy's and others, arrived in the US in the late 1700s and traveled
through Virginia, West Virgina and Kentucky before settling in Illinois.

My father's family, the Woy's arrived in the US in the 1770's from Germany and settled in Pennsylvania before moving to Ohio, then Illinois
and finally California in the 1880s. My mother's ancestors, the Gallup's arrived in the US in the 1630s, they moved from Massachusetts to
Connecticut to New York to Wisconsin before ending up in California in the 1880s.

We have found our ancestors' movements across the continent an interesting parallel with the important events of American history.
