Updated September 5, 2001

About Our Family Research

As told by Lena Allender June 10, 1998:

Wesley Wright "Sr." grew up in the St. Joseph, Missouri area. Wesley married Alice Workman in Gentry County, Missouri on February 14, 1897. Wesley and Alice moved to Omaha, Nebraska where upon they had Hallie and Clarence. The family of four later moved to Oklahoma near an Indian Reservation in the Ponca City area where Wesley found work as a ranch hand on the famous 101 Ranch. Wesley later moved the family to Blackwell, Oklahoma and purchased his own farm.

Wesley Sr's father is said to have been a minister in Northwestern Missouri. Nothing is yet known on Wesley's father as to name, origin or families date of immigration to the United States.
