Leonard & Angela Wright of Boyds, Maryland

Updated February 22, 2004

About Our Family Research

The Children of Catherine Brown are in the mist of planning our 15th annual Reunion in Dunkirt, Maryland. We had a discussion on several issues. The were as follow:

Money Collection/Fund Raisers
Place of Banquet
Place of Cookout
Assignment of Dignitaries
Logo Talk
Getting the work out! (News Letter)

Money Collection/Fund Raisers

We have established a new rate for participation. We set the rate at

· $20.00 for family members ages 19 and over

· $10.00 for family members ages 13 through 18

· $5.00 for family members ages 4 through 12

· Free for members under 4

· $10.00 for guests

There will not be a house hold cost unless someone has grand fathered in from last years cost. We agreed that this was fair and ask if anyone has any disagreements with this to discuss it with Leonard Wright – wright88@erols.com

Leonard Wright will be selling Tie-Shirts during the event as a fundraiser.

Carla Ellerbe is looking into throwing or attending a cabaret for the Sat. May 29th.

Place of Banquet

We decided not to have a banquet this year in order to fun activities at the cookout like having a moon bounce and clown, renting equipment for the softball field and volleyball and Grill rental. We should have enough money from the sale of the tie shirts for a more elaborate banquet next year.

Place of Cookout

The location of the cookout will be at DUNKIRT DISTRICT PARK in Dunkirt, Maryland. It will take place on Sunday, May 30, 2004 starting at 12:00noon. There are many activities available at this location such as Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Skate Boarding, huge playground and other activities which we plan to set up. (Moon bounce, Clown magic show, sculptured balloons, snow cone and cotton candy machine, DJ)

Assignment of Dignitaries

Gina Campbell has been designated as the point of contact for this event. Gina has taken on the majority of the preparation for this event.

Carla Ellerbe and Lolita Wright has been designated as the point of contact for entertainment on the Saturday prior.

Leonard Wright has been designated as the historian and in charge of getting tie shirts

Kim Simmons has been assigned to keep the family updated on the event with the newsletter.

Logo Talk

After many rough drafts of the logo for 2004 to go onto the tie shirts, we have come up with one that we think everyone would want to buy. The tie shirt will have everyone’s name on it in the color Blue and Gold. So “Get Down with the Browns” (our 2004 motto) this year and buy a tie shirt. If you want to reserve a special size for yourself and family or friends, please contact Leonard otherwise it will be first come first serve.

Getting the work out! (News Letter)

We will try our best to contact as many of you as possible but recognize that we may not have up to date contact information on everyone. So please help us spread the word. Print the news letter for other family members and try to have a good showing this year!!! We need everyone’s participation for this cookout to succeed. So plan ahead, set your calendars and let’s get down with the decedents of Catherine Brown this year.

Our next meeting is planned for March 20th, 2004 at Leonard's house in Boyds, Maryland. Please contact him asap if you plan to attend.

AS of December 2003, we are 104 strong just from Grand mother Catherine Brown.
