For years I have been compiling my family history. It has been a long journey since most of my family lives overseas and that Wright is not our true name. Unfortunately, my great grandmother remarried after my paternal grandfather was born and in those days they made the child adopt the surname of the step father. Nobody in our family knows the spelling of my great grandfather's last name and since he came from County Cork in Ireland, supposedly those records were destroyed in the revolution. Also, on frequent trips home to Italy I am able to gather a bit more information each time, but immigration records to the United States for many are a bit sketchy. Also, I am not too successful in finding information beyond 1875 in Italy as those archives are buried in Florence and I have yet to find a way to unearth them without physically going there. This challenge is continuing but very rewarding and satisfying.
