My Family name is Wrigley and is from Wrigley Head in Lancashire, near Oldham and Bardsley.


Thomas Smethurst Wrigley was born in Oldham in 1900 son of James Wrigley.

His grand father William Wrigley who was Lord mayor of Oldham in 1852. His uncle was William Wrigley Jr the founder of the infamous Wrigley crewing gum of Chicago.

The heritage dates back to Wriggley in the 1200's .

There is also a link to the Lord Protector of England.

The family emigrated to Australia in 19 47 when daughter of Thomas And Mabel , Vera Hayes nee Wrigley meet and married an Australian Air Force maintenance engineer George Hayes.

It was a "dream come true" romance of 2 weeks which lastest 60 years until George passed away. God bless my Uncle george - he was true gentlemen..

Ross moved to Asian Hong Kong in 1998 with wife Stephanie Patricia and daughter Freyja Mary ( aged 3 ) and then to China in 1993. Where he lives today
